Algeria Reaffirms Commitment to Industrial Development at UNIDO Conference

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Algeria has reiterated its strong commitment to international efforts aimed at achieving inclusive and sustainable industrial development. The reaffirmation came during the 21st session of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) General Conference held in Riyadh.

Representing Algeria at the conference, the Minister of State, Minister of Petroleum and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, emphasized Algeria’s unwavering support for global initiatives promoting industrial growth.

Minister Arkab highlighted UNIDO’s pivotal role in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 9, which focuses on industry, innovation, and infrastructure. He commended the organization’s significant contribution to assisting developing nations in establishing advanced industrial foundations and enhancing their innovative capabilities.

Acknowledging the escalating global challenges, including geopolitical tensions, climate change, and the widening technological gap, Arkab expressed confidence in UNIDO’s ability to overcome these obstacles and continue its mission of supporting global industrial development. He further stressed Algeria’s readiness to collaborate constructively with UNIDO and its member states to strengthen the organization’s vital role in fostering industrial innovation, addressing shared challenges, and building a more prosperous and sustainable industrial future for all.

With this declaration, Algeria has once again solidified its position as an active partner in international initiatives dedicated to bolstering industrial economies and advancing technology worldwide.
