Algiers’ public transportation authority, ETUSA, has announced the launch and extension of several bus routes serving the Roukhi neighborhood in the municipality of Souidania, effective today, Monday. This initiative aims to improve public transportation services and facilitate citizen mobility, in accordance with directives from the Ministry of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transportation.
ETUSA’s statement detailed the introduction of two new routes:
Route 229: Connects Roukhi to the center of Souidania. The first bus departs from Roukhi at 6:00 AM, with the last departure from Souidania center at 6:30 PM. The fare is set at 20 DZD, with buses running approximately every 30 minutes.
Route 526: Links Roukhi to the 2 Mai station (Tafourah), passing through the Al Khadra neighborhoods in Ouled Fayet. The first departure from Roukhi is at 6:00 AM, and the last departure from 2 Mai station is at 5:00 PM. The fare for this route is 50 DZD.
In addition to the new routes, ETUSA has also announced modifications and extensions to two existing lines:
Route 03: Connects Roukhi to Chavalley station via Souidania and Bouchaoui. Service begins at 6:00 AM, with the last bus leaving Chavalley at 7:00 PM. The fare is 30 DZD.
Route 708: Connects Roukhi to Chavalley, passing through Souidania and Dounia Park. The first departure is at 6:00 AM, and the last departure is at 6:00 PM, with a fare of 30 DZD.
These measures are part of ongoing efforts to enhance transportation network coverage and provide improved services for residents throughout the capital city. ETUSA aims to provide more efficient and accessible public transit options for the growing population of Algiers.
