Algiers – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the esteemed Algerian artist, Baia Bouzar, known widely as ‘Biyouna,’ following her death today at the age of 73.
President Tebboune’s message of condolence expressed his profound sadness at the loss of one of the most prominent artistic figures who has left an indelible mark on the Algerian cultural landscape with her timeless works and memorable roles. He emphasized that with Biyouna’s passing, the artistic community has lost a ‘great name and a unique talent who left an enduring impression on the hearts of the public.’
Biyouna had been admitted to Bainem Hospital before being transferred to the Beni Messous Hospital for treatment of health complications that required intensive care.
Biyouna is considered one of Algeria’s most beloved artists, having brought joy to audiences for decades through her contributions to television, film, and theater. Her artistic legacy will undoubtedly endure in the hearts of her fans and her wide audience.
