Brasilia – The sixth session of Algerian-Brazilian political consultations concluded today in Brasilia, marking a significant step in bolstering bilateral relations. The consultations were co-chaired by Mr. Lounès Magramane, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad and African Affairs, and his Brazilian counterpart, Ms. Laura da Rocha.
According to a statement released by the Ministry, the meeting served as a platform to review the existing bonds of friendship and cooperation between Algeria and Brazil. Discussions focused on identifying avenues to further enhance these ties and elevate them towards a more robust economic partnership.
“The discussions were fruitful and comprehensive,” a Ministry spokesperson stated. “Both sides expressed a strong commitment to deepening cooperation across various sectors, including trade, investment, agriculture, and energy.”
Economic cooperation was a central theme of the consultations. Both delegations explored potential joint ventures and investment opportunities aimed at diversifying and strengthening their respective economies. The importance of facilitating trade and removing barriers to investment was also emphasized.
Mr. Magramane highlighted Algeria’s efforts to improve its investment climate and attract foreign capital. He underscored the strategic importance of the Algerian market and its potential as a gateway to the African continent for Brazilian businesses.
Ms. da Rocha reaffirmed Brazil’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with Algeria, recognizing the country’s pivotal role in regional stability and its growing economic importance. She expressed optimism about the future of Algerian-Brazilian relations and pledged to work closely with her Algerian counterpart to implement the agreed-upon initiatives.
The sixth session of political consultations underscores the mutual desire of Algeria and Brazil to forge a stronger and more comprehensive partnership.
