Algeria and Egypt are deepening their economic and strategic partnership, aiming to contribute to greater Arab solidarity. Following the 9th session of the Algerian-Egyptian Joint Higher Committee on Cooperation in Cairo, Algerian Prime Minister Seifi Gherbi highlighted the strong historical ties between the two nations, emphasizing that their economic partnership is evolving into a promising framework for increased integration.
The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the positive outcomes of the session, noting the numerous agreements signed. He affirmed that these agreements reflect the rich and diverse nature of the Algerian-Egyptian partnership and the significant opportunities available for further development.
During the session, both sides assessed their existing partnership and explored avenues for expansion, particularly in light of the growing trade volume between the two countries. Joint investment projects have seen encouraging growth, encompassing vital sectors such as energy, petrochemicals, electrical industries, pharmaceuticals, construction, public works, and services.
Strategic Vision Supported by Leadership
Prime Minister Gherbi underscored that this positive trajectory is driven by the unwavering commitment of both President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to elevate the relationship to a strategic level. He emphasized that this commitment has consistently been reaffirmed by the leaders of both nations, who share a long history and common destiny.
During his meeting with President Sisi, Prime Minister Gherbi sensed a strong determination to continue working with his Algerian counterpart to strengthen relations and intensify coordination and consultation, especially in the face of current challenges in the Arab world. He also noted that deepening ties between Algeria and Egypt is a strategic response to the significant challenges facing the region. Strengthening coordination and consultation on various current issues is paramount.
The Algerian government views this enhanced partnership as a vital step towards regional stability and cooperation.
