Thunderstorms Forecast for Several Algerian Provinces

Algiers, November 27, 2025 – The National Meteorology Office has issued a severe weather warning for several provinces across Algeria, forecasting heavy thunderstorms and significant rainfall.

A level two (orange) alert is in effect for the provinces of Boumerdes, Tizi Ouzou, Bouira, and Bejaia. Rainfall in these areas is expected to range between 20 and 40 millimeters. The warning remains valid until 9:00 PM local time today, Thursday.

In a separate advisory, the meteorological services cautioned residents in the provinces of Jijel, Skikda, Annaba, El Tarf, northern Setif, and northern Mila to prepare for locally heavy thunderstorms. Rainfall amounts are predicted to be between 30 and 50 millimeters, potentially reaching or exceeding 60 millimeters in coastal regions. This warning is in effect until midday today, Thursday.
