Algeria and Chile Hold Sixth Round of Political Consultations

Santiago, Chile – Lounès Magramane, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, co-chaired the sixth session of Algerian-Chilean political consultations with Gloria de la Fuente, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Chile, in Santiago on Thursday.

According to a statement released by the Ministry, these discussions provided an opportunity to assess the current state of bilateral relations between the two nations. Both parties explored avenues to further enhance cooperation across various sectors, with a particular focus on strengthening economic and trade ties to reflect the potential of both countries. The emphasis was placed on identifying concrete steps to unlock mutually beneficial opportunities.

The Algerian and Chilean delegations also engaged in an exchange of views and analyses on a range of international and regional issues of mutual interest. Key topics included developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, the Western Sahara issue, and multilateral matters such as environmental concerns and reform of the United Nations.

The consultations underscore the commitment of Algeria and Chile to fostering stronger diplomatic and economic links. Future collaborations and initiatives are expected to build upon the foundation laid during this sixth session.
