Algiers, Algeria – Algerian National Radio has been awarded the prestigious Arab Media Excellence Award for 2025 in the Best Radio Investigation category. The award, presented by the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States (Media and Communication Sector), marks a significant achievement for Algerian journalism.
The winning investigation, titled “Social Media Youth and Artificial Intelligence,” was produced by journalist Louisa Mohieddine from the Tebessa Regional Radio station. Her work stood out amongst a competitive field of 150 entries from 13 Arab nations.
The award ceremony, held in Kuwait, was attended by Kuwait’s Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdul Rahman Al-Mutairi, the patron of the award, and the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit. Winners across various media categories were honored during the event.
This accolade is a testament to the Algerian Radio’s prominent position and its leading role in fostering quality media production. It also recognizes the radio’s commitment to encouraging innovation among young journalists, particularly in areas related to digital transformation and artificial intelligence.
