Algeria to Face Sudan in Arab Cup Opener

The Algerian national team will kick off its campaign in the FIFA Arab Cup 2025 against Sudan on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025, at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium in Doha. The match, scheduled for 13:00 (Algerian time), marks the first Group D fixture for the Desert Foxes.

Qatar will host the second edition of the FIFA Arab Cup from December 1st to 18th, 2025. Algeria finds itself in Group D alongside Iraq, Bahrain, and Sudan.

Sudan secured their place in the group stage after a 2-1 victory against Lebanon in the qualifying round. Bahrain also advanced, defeating Djibouti 1-0.

Following the opening match, Algeria, led by coach Madjid Bougherra, will face Bahrain on Saturday, December 6th, at 14:30 (Algerian time) at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha. The Desert Foxes will conclude their group stage matches against Iraq on Tuesday, December 9th, at 18:00 (Algerian time), also at Khalifa International Stadium.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage, which includes the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the final. A total of 16 teams from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) will compete in the FIFA Arab Cup 2025 finals.

Qatar, as the host nation, and Algeria, as the defending champions, automatically qualified for the finals, along with the seven highest-ranked nations at the time of the draw.
