The University Military Hospital specializing in Orthopedic Surgery, Functional Rehabilitation, and Prosthetic Limb Installation in Bouchaoui, First Military Region, has successfully concluded its ninth Medical-Surgical Conference and inaugural Paramedical Day. The event is part of its annual scientific activity aimed at boosting training and scientific exchange.
The opening ceremony, held at the National Army Club on Saturday, November 29, 2025, was presided over by the Central Director of Military Health Services of the Ministry of National Defense. This year’s conference revolved around two key themes: ‘Knee Diseases: A Multidisciplinary Approach’ for the Medical-Surgical Days and ‘Paramedical Care in Addressing Musculoskeletal Diseases: Integrated Care’ for the Paramedical Day.
The opening was attended by generals, colonels, and directors of health units, along with civilian and military medical specialists from various hospital departments.
In his opening address, the Central Director of Military Health Services emphasized that this scientific gathering serves as a valuable platform for exchanging expertise and knowledge in orthopedics, functional rehabilitation, and prosthetics. He also highlighted the pivotal role of paramedical teams in supporting military health missions. He added that the event reflects the High Command of the People’s National Army’s commitment to developing the military healthcare system and promoting scientific research and innovation.
The Director-General of the University Military Hospital underscored the importance of the conference’s theme, focusing on discussing the latest scientific developments related to musculoskeletal diseases and exploring optimal approaches to comprehensive medical care. He outlined promising development prospects for the hospital, including: advancing scoliosis surgery, integrating stem cell transplantation, and enhancing day surgery procedures.
These medical days aim to foster the exchange of experiences among national experts, strengthen scientific cooperation, and enrich the knowledge and practical aspects of various surgical specialties related to musculoskeletal diseases, reflecting the efforts of the People’s National Army’s High Command to ensure optimal healthcare for its personnel.
