Algeria and Angola Discuss Cooperation Ahead of Key African Summits

Algiers, Algeria – Ahmed Attaf, Algeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, received António Tete, the Minister of External Relations of the Republic of Angola, in Algiers on Wednesday. The meeting precedes Algeria’s hosting of two significant international events focused on African issues.

According to a statement released by the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussions took place on the eve of the International Conference on “Colonial Crimes in Africa,” scheduled for November 30th. Furthermore, Algeria is preparing to host the twelfth session of the “Oran Process” on Peace and Security in Africa on December 1st, 2025.

During the meeting, Ministers Attaf and Tete reviewed the current state of bilateral relations between Algeria and Angola. They also discussed preparations for strengthening cooperation in the near future. The ministers exchanged perspectives and analyses on matters of peace and security across the African continent. Special attention was given to these issues in light of Algeria’s non-permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council and Angola’s current presidency of the African Union.

The meeting underscores the commitment of both nations to collaborate on key issues affecting the African continent and to promote peace and stability in the region.
