California Shooting Leaves 4 Dead, 10 Wounded

Stockton, California – A mass shooting at a family gathering in Stockton, Northern California, has left four people dead and ten others injured. The incident occurred late Saturday evening, sending shockwaves through the community.

According to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, preliminary investigations suggest the shooting may have been a deliberate act. Deputies responded to the scene and discovered fourteen victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Multiple victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

“The scene remains active, and investigators are working diligently to gather additional information,” a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office stated. Authorities have not yet released details regarding potential suspects or motives behind the attack.

The incident comes on the heels of another shooting in Washington D.C. last week, where two members of the West Virginia National Guard were targeted near the White House. One soldier, identified as Sarah Bakstrom, 20, succumbed to her injuries, while her colleague, Andrew Wolf, 24, remains in critical condition. The suspect in that shooting, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, 29, an Afghan national who previously worked with the CIA in Afghanistan and resettled in the U.S. after the American withdrawal, is in custody.

The recent surge in gun violence has prompted increased scrutiny of U.S. immigration policies. Just yesterday, the U.S. government announced a freeze on all asylum decisions, along with other measures intended to tighten immigration enforcement.
