Record Prize Money Announced for 2025 Arab Cup in Qatar

Doha, Qatar – The upcoming 2025 Arab Cup in Qatar is set to be a landmark event, with organizers announcing an unprecedented prize pool totaling $36.5 million. This figure represents the largest financial commitment in the tournament’s history, surpassing even the prize money offered in the Africa Cup of Nations and the Asian Cup.

The 11th edition of the Arab Cup will take place from December 1st to 18th, featuring 16 national teams. Among the participants is Algeria (A’), the reigning champion, who will compete in Group D alongside Iraq, Sudan, and Bahrain.

The significant increase in prize money underscores the growing importance and prestige of the Arab Cup. The $36.5 million purse, equivalent to approximately 132.9 million Qatari Riyals, marks a substantial leap from the $25 million awarded in the 2021 edition, where Algeria secured the title.

According to an official statement, the prize money will be distributed as follows:

  • $715,000 for each participating team.
  • $1.073 million for teams reaching the quarter-finals.
  • $2.146 million for the fourth-place finisher.
  • $2.862 million for the third-place finisher.
  • $4.293 million for the runner-up.
  • $7.155 million for the champion of the 2025 Arab Cup.

This substantial investment is expected to further elevate the competition and provide significant support to participating Arab nations. The 2025 Arab Cup promises to be a thrilling and highly competitive tournament, showcasing the best of Arab football.
