Algiers – Algerian and Chinese security cooperation has reached a new level following a high-level visit by a Chinese police delegation to the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) in Algiers. This event underscores the strong strategic partnership between Algeria and the People’s Republic of China in the security sector.
The Director General of National Security, Ali Badaoui, welcomed a high-ranking security delegation from China, led by YANG BIAO, Deputy Director of Public Security for Hubei Province, at the DGSN headquarters in Algiers. The visit, which took place on Sunday, November 30, 2025, featured an extended bilateral working session between police officials from both countries.
Discussions focused on exploring avenues for enhanced police cooperation and development, particularly in the areas of training, education, and combating transnational organized crime. Both sides emphasized the importance of exchanging expertise and strengthening operational coordination, reflecting the advanced state of relations between the two nations.
The Chinese delegation’s itinerary included a field visit to the Special Operations Group of the Police (GOSP) headquarters in Boudaou. There, the delegation observed the tasks assigned to this elite unit and witnessed field demonstrations and simulation exercises showcasing the GOSP’s high readiness and advanced technical capabilities.
The delegation also toured the Central Laboratory of Forensic Science and Technology in Chateauneuf, where they received a detailed presentation on the laboratory’s organizational structure and the modern equipment used in analyzing forensic evidence. This technology is intended to enhance the work of the judicial police and improve the effectiveness of security investigations.
Finally, the visit concluded with a tour of the Central Service for Combating Cybercrime. The delegation was briefed on the digital equipment and modern methods used to monitor and track electronic crimes, addressing the growing cyber threats at the international level. This visit highlights the commitment of both parties to implementing effective and integrated security cooperation, strengthening the capabilities of police forces in facing shared challenges and supporting the strategic Algerian-Chinese partnership.
