Algiers, Algeria – The Director General of National Security, Ali Badaoui, received a high-level Chinese police delegation at the General Directorate of National Security headquarters on Sunday. The visit underscores the commitment to bolstering police cooperation between Algeria and the People’s Republic of China.
The Chinese delegation was led by Mr. Yang Biao, Deputy Director of Public Security for Hubei Province, who is on an official visit to the Directorate. The visit commenced with a bilateral working session co-chaired by Director General Badaoui and Deputy Director Yang. Discussions centered on enhancing and developing mechanisms for police cooperation, particularly in the areas of training, transnational organized crime, and cybercrime. The aim is to serve mutual interests and elevate the already strong relationship between the two nations.
The delegation’s itinerary included a visit to the Special Operations Group of the Police (GOSP) in Boudouaou. The Chinese officials were briefed on the GOSP’s structure and mission, and witnessed field demonstrations and simulation exercises showcasing the professionalism and capabilities of Algeria’s elite police force.
Furthermore, the delegation toured the Central Laboratory of Scientific and Technical Police in Chateauneuf. A comprehensive technical presentation was provided on the laboratory’s organizational structure, functions, and advanced equipment used in forensic analysis. The visit also included the Central Service for Combating Cybercrime, where the delegation learned about its divisions and advanced methods for detecting electronic crimes. This initiative aims to support judicial police work and develop investigative tools.
