Algeria Honors Veterans on Revolution Anniversary

Algiers, November 1, 2025 – A formal ceremony honoring Algerian veterans (Mujahideen) took place last night at the National Museum of the Mujahid, marking the 71st anniversary of the outbreak of the Algerian Revolution. The event was presided over by the Minister of Veterans Affairs, Abdelmalek Tachrifet.

The ceremony, a key component of the official commemorations, was attended by prominent figures including the President of the Council of the Nation, the President of the People’s National Assembly, several government ministers, the Dean of the Grand Mosque of Algiers, the Secretary-General of the National Organization of Mujahideen, and the Secretary-General of the National Organization of the Sons of Martyrs. A number of veterans and members of the revolutionary family were also in attendance.

A select group of revolutionary icons were specially honored during the event. These included the veterans Saleh Goudjil, Dahou Ould Kablia, Mohamed Djoghaba, Mohamed Maouche, and Fatima Naamaoui.

This tribute, officials stated, serves as a recognition of their profound sacrifices and their distinguished history of service to the nation. The Ministry affirmed the enduring importance of remembering and celebrating the contributions of those who fought for Algeria’s independence.

The event underscored the ongoing commitment to honoring Algeria’s revolutionary past and the sacrifices made in the pursuit of freedom and self-determination.
