A new service, dubbed ‘My Numbers DZ,’ has been officially launched to empower mobile phone subscribers in Algeria. The service allows users to easily determine the number of SIM cards registered under their name with their respective mobile operators.
Authorities confirmed that this initiative is part of ongoing efforts to protect subscribers and bolster their digital security. The service operates under the banner: ‘Protecting your digital identity starts with knowing what is registered in your name.’
Accessible via the unified code *254#, ‘My Numbers DZ’ enables subscribers to proactively monitor the number of SIM cards linked to their identity. This serves as a preventative measure against potential unauthorized use of their personal information, which could impact security and public order.
To utilize the service, subscribers simply dial *254# from their mobile line and enter their date of birth for verification. Subsequently, they will receive an SMS message detailing the total number of SIM cards registered under their name with that operator. For more detailed information, subscribers can visit the operator’s commercial agencies.
Each successful request costs five Algerian dinars (DZD 5), deducted directly from the subscriber’s mobile credit. To check for registrations with other operators, subscribers are advised to visit the agencies of those operators with a valid official identification document.
Authorities emphasize the importance of using this service to verify the actual number of registered SIM cards, stressing that digital security is a shared and urgent responsibility. Regular checks are encouraged to maintain control over one’s digital footprint.
