Algiers, Algeria – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune today received Moussa Faki Mahamat, Chairperson of the African Union Commission, at the Presidential Palace in Algiers. The meeting underscores Algeria’s continued commitment to fostering strong relationships with key African leaders and institutions.
Discussions focused on a range of critical issues facing the African continent, including regional security, economic development, and the strengthening of intra-African cooperation. President Tebboune reiterated Algeria’s dedication to supporting the African Union’s efforts to promote peace and stability across the continent.
Chairperson Faki Mahamat expressed his appreciation for Algeria’s leadership role within the African Union and its unwavering support for the organization’s objectives. He emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between Algeria and the African Union in addressing shared challenges and advancing the interests of the African people.
The meeting was attended by Boualem Boualem, Director of the President’s Office; Ahmed Attaf, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad; Amar Abba, Advisor to the President in charge of Diplomatic Affairs; and Mohamed Khaled, Algeria’s Ambassador to Addis Ababa and Permanent Representative to the African Union.
