Algiers, December 1, 2025 – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune today received the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Petkovic, at the Presidential Palace. The meeting served as a farewell visit as Ambassador Petkovic concludes her tenure in Algeria.
During the audience, President Tebboune expressed his appreciation for Ambassador Petkovic’s efforts in strengthening the bilateral relations between Algeria and Serbia during her time in Algiers. He emphasized the importance of continued cooperation across various sectors to further solidify the ties between the two nations.
Ambassador Petkovic, in turn, conveyed her gratitude to President Tebboune and the Algerian government for the support and collaboration she received throughout her mission. She highlighted the progress made in fostering economic, cultural, and political exchanges between Algeria and Serbia, expressing optimism for the future of the relationship.
The meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on the shared history and mutual interests that underpin the Algerian-Serbian partnership. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to exploring new avenues for collaboration and enhancing people-to-people connections.
Boualem Boualem, Director of the President’s Office, and Amar Abba, Advisor to the President in charge of Diplomatic Affairs, were also present at the meeting. Their presence underscores the significance Algeria places on its diplomatic relations with Serbia.
