President Tebboune Meets African Union Commission Chairperson

Algiers, Algeria – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune today received Moussa Faki Mahamat, Chairperson of the African Union Commission, at the Presidential Palace. The meeting underscores Algeria’s continued commitment to its role within the African Union and its engagement with continental leadership.

The discussions focused on a range of issues pertinent to the African Union’s agenda, including peace and security, economic development, and regional integration. Both President Tebboune and Chairperson Faki Mahamat reaffirmed their dedication to strengthening cooperation and collaboration between Algeria and the African Union to address the challenges facing the continent.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss specific initiatives and projects aimed at promoting sustainable development and enhancing the well-being of African citizens. Present at the meeting were Boualem Boualem, Director of the Presidency of the Republic; Ahmed Attaf, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad; Amar Abba, Advisor to the President of the Republic in charge of Diplomatic Affairs; and Mohamed Khaled, Algerian Ambassador to Addis Ababa and Permanent Representative of Algeria to the African Union.

The discussions highlight Algeria’s central role in African affairs and its commitment to fostering collaboration across the continent. The meeting serves as a testament to the strong partnership between Algeria and the African Union and their shared vision for a prosperous and peaceful Africa.
