Algiers, DZWatch – The National Democratic Rally (RND) has expressed its satisfaction with the recent decisions made by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune during the latest Council of Ministers meeting. The party released a statement today, highlighting the significance of these measures in improving the lives of Algerian citizens.
The RND lauded President Tebboune’s commitment to enhancing the social and economic well-being of the population. The party specifically welcomed the decision to raise the guaranteed minimum wage from 20,000 to 24,000 Algerian dinars, effective January 2026. The RND considers this a historic step, noting the unprecedented scale of the increase since the establishment of the minimum wage decades ago.
“This decision reflects the state’s unwavering commitment to improving the living standards of citizens, promoting social justice, and protecting their purchasing power,” the RND statement emphasized.
Furthermore, the RND commended the increase in unemployment benefits from 15,000 to 18,000 dinars. The party also acknowledged the simplification of the application process through a revision of the file renewal requirement, ensuring benefits are paid for a full year with the possibility of renewal. This, according to the RND, demonstrates the state’s dedication to supporting and empowering young people socially and economically.
In addition to these social measures, the RND expressed its pride in Algeria’s achievement of becoming a refined gasoline exporter for the first time since independence. The party views this milestone as a qualitative leap in strengthening the country’s energy sovereignty, highlighting the success of the policy to rehabilitate and modernize the hydrocarbons sector.
