Setif, Algeria – November 2, 2025 – A devastating multi-vehicle collision in Setif province has resulted in the deaths of five people and injuries to three others. The accident occurred late last night on a local highway, according to reports from local authorities.
The Civil Protection services confirmed that they responded to the scene at approximately 10:32 PM local time. The incident involved a tractor-trailer and two passenger vehicles on Provincial Road 171, within the Bazersakra municipality, El Eulma district.
The collision resulted in the immediate deaths of five individuals, whose ages range from 5 to 74 years old. Their bodies have been transported to the morgue at the local hospital. Three other people sustained various injuries and are reported to be in critical condition. Paramedics provided immediate on-site treatment before transporting them to the hospital for further medical care.
“This is a truly heartbreaking event for our community,” stated a local official who wished to remain anonymous. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims and those who are injured.”
Civil Protection deployed four ambulances and a rescue truck to manage the situation and provide assistance. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
