Algiers, Algeria – Ahmed Attaf, Algeria’s Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, received Bankole Adeoye, the African Union (AU) Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security, on Monday. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 12th High-Level Seminar on Peace and Security in Africa, also known as the “Oran Process.”
Discussions centered on strengthening the AU’s capabilities in addressing current peace and security challenges facing the continent. Minister Attaf reiterated Algeria’s unwavering support for all efforts aimed at developing and implementing African solutions to African problems.
The AU Commissioner expressed his deep appreciation for Algeria’s role within the United Nations Security Council in championing African issues and core priorities. He also commended Algeria’s significant contribution to fostering joint African action.
