The first day of the national polio vaccination campaign witnessed a significant turnout, with 443,566 children vaccinated across the country, according to the Ministry of Health. This figure represents a positive indication of widespread mobilization and strong cooperation from parents.
The campaign, launched on Sunday, November 30, 2025, will continue until December 6th, under the supervision of the Minister of Health, Mohamed Seddik Ait Mesdouane. The Minister officially inaugurated the operation, emphasizing the strategic importance of strengthening collective immunity against polio.
The Ministry has allocated over 7,000 vaccination centers nationwide for this campaign, along with mobile medical teams and a door-to-door strategy, particularly in the southern regions, to ensure access to all targeted children aged between two months and five years.
51 regional supervisors are overseeing the operation in the field, responsible for ensuring effective coordination and monitoring of various activities to guarantee comprehensive and smooth coverage.
More than 5,532,000 doses of the vaccine have been distributed to the regions as part of the logistical preparation for the operation, ensuring the availability of the necessary quantities throughout the first phase.
The Ministry of Health confirms the continued mobilization of its medical and paramedical teams to ensure the success of this important national campaign, urging parents to continue visiting vaccination centers or welcoming mobile teams to protect their children. The Ministry reiterated the critical importance of vaccination in eradicating this debilitating disease. Parents are encouraged to participate actively in this national effort.
