Health Minister Honors Departing Chinese Medical Mission

Algiers – Minister of Health, Mohamed Nadir Ait Said, alongside the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Dong Guangli, presided over a ceremony honoring the 28th Chinese medical mission on the occasion of their departure from Algeria. The event took place Monday evening at the National Institute of Public Health, with officials from the central administration in attendance.

In his address, the Minister emphasized the significance of the event, expressing both gratitude and a sense of farewell as the Chinese medical mission concluded its two-year service in Algeria. The mission operated across numerous regions, providing expertise in various medical and surgical specialties. The Minister stated that this occasion served as an opportunity to express Algeria’s appreciation and reaffirm the commitment to cooperation, humanity, and solidarity between the two nations.

He highlighted the longstanding friendship and collaboration between Algeria and China, particularly in the health sector, noting that the first Chinese medical mission was dispatched to Algeria following the revolution and the dawn of independence. The Minister conveyed Algeria’s deep appreciation for the members of the Chinese medical mission, who, upon arrival, immediately began working alongside their Algerian counterparts, sharing their knowledge and professional experience. Their collective efforts were focused on providing the best possible healthcare to Algerian citizens.

The Minister emphasized that their contribution extended beyond providing expertise, as they demonstrated a high level of care and professional dedication. He affirmed that the work accomplished by the mission was satisfactory and that their interventions were effective, bringing reassurance to many families.
