Boulbina: Aiming to Retain Arab Cup, Dreams of National Team

Adel Boulbina, the Algerian national team (A’) striker, has stated that his participation in the 2025 Arab Cup represents a significant milestone in his career. He emphasized his long-held ambition to represent the senior national team. However, he expressed no disappointment at not being called up, acknowledging the challenges and intense competition within Madjid Bougherra’s squad.

During a press conference alongside national coach Madjid Bougherra ahead of the match against Sudan, Boulbina said: “I have always dreamed of playing with the first team, but I am not upset by my absence. I am looking forward to a major tournament under Bougherra’s leadership. This competition isn’t held every year, and it’s an important step for me. I will be playing alongside experienced players, and I am honored to be with them, which gives me extra motivation.”

The Al-Duhail (Qatar) player added: “I hope to make the Algerian people happy and repay everyone who has supported me. If I have the opportunity to join the first team and participate in the Africa Cup of Nations, I would be delighted.”

Boulbina stressed his determination to give his all in this edition of the Arab Cup. He affirmed that the atmosphere within the team and the fans’ support give him a greater desire to shine and contribute to retaining the Arab title. “Our goal is clear: to win the title for the second time in a row,” he stated. “We have the necessary capabilities, but it requires great focus, especially since the opening matches have shown that the competition will not be easy. As defending champions, we will face motivated opponents, and we want to rise to the challenge, starting with tomorrow’s match against Sudan.”
