Algiers – Salima Bekhta Mansouri, Algeria’s Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of African Affairs, received Abou Bakr Hefni, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, in Algiers on Tuesday. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 12th High-Level Seminar on Peace and Security in Africa, known as the ‘Oran Process’.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Algeria and Egypt, particularly in the areas of security and economic cooperation. Both officials reaffirmed their commitment to working together to address regional challenges and promote stability across the African continent.
‘The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to exchange views on issues of mutual concern and to explore new avenues for collaboration,’ the statement noted. The ‘Oran Process’ serves as a vital platform for African nations to engage in constructive dialogue and find collaborative solutions to pressing security threats.
Ms. Mansouri emphasized Algeria’s dedication to fostering strong partnerships with fellow African nations, highlighting the importance of collective action in achieving sustainable peace and development. Mr. Hefni echoed these sentiments, praising Algeria’s leadership role in promoting regional stability.
