Algeria and Egypt Affirm Commitment to Enhanced Bilateral Cooperation

Algeria and Egypt have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and increasing consultation on matters of mutual interest concerning the African continent. The affirmation came during a meeting between Salima Bakhta Mansouri, Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of African Affairs, and Abu Bakr Hefny, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 12th High-Level Seminar on Peace and Security in Africa, the “Oran Process.”

The discussions provided an opportunity to underscore the strong historical ties between the two nations and their respective populations. Both parties reviewed the accelerating pace of bilateral cooperation across various sectors. Emphasis was placed on the importance of continued coordination and consultation concerning ongoing crises within Africa.
