Samsung Unveils Groundbreaking Tri-Fold Smartphone

SEOUL – Samsung Electronics today unveiled its first-ever tri-fold smartphone, a device boasting a remarkable 10-inch display when fully unfolded. The new device, dubbed the Galaxy Z Tri-Fold, represents a significant leap in foldable technology.

According to Samsung, the Galaxy Z Tri-Fold also features a 6.5-inch cover screen when folded, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold series. This design allows users to seamlessly adapt the device to various usage scenarios, offering both the portability of a phone and the screen real estate of a tablet.

The initial release of the Galaxy Z Tri-Fold will be available in a single configuration: 512GB of storage and a sleek black finish. The device will be priced at 3.59 million won, approximately $2,430 USD.

Samsung emphasizes that the Galaxy Z Tri-Fold is the thinnest foldable phone they have produced to date, measuring just 12.9mm when folded and a mere 3.9mm when fully unfolded. This sleek profile enhances both its aesthetics and portability.

Powering the device is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile platform, optimized for Galaxy devices. The Galaxy Z Tri-Fold also incorporates an inward-folding structure designed to better protect the display. Furthermore, the device provides haptic feedback and alerts users to any detected anomalies.

Weighing in at 309 grams, the Galaxy Z Tri-Fold is slated for official release in the domestic market on December 12th. Samsung has plans to launch the device in other key markets, including China, Singapore, and the United States, at a later date. DZWatch will continue to provide updates on availability and pricing for international markets as they become available.

This innovative device marks a bold step forward in the evolution of smartphones, showcasing Samsung’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of mobile technology.
