Algiers, December 2, 2025 – The National Meteorology Office has issued warnings for heavy rainfall and snowfall impacting several regions across Algeria. Citizens are advised to exercise caution and stay informed about weather updates.
A special weather alert indicates that the Tamanrasset province will continue to experience thunderstorms with rainfall amounts ranging from 20 to 40 millimeters until midday today, Tuesday.
Furthermore, the provinces of Djanet and Illizi are also under a thunderstorm warning, with localized rainfall potentially reaching up to 40 millimeters. This alert is in effect until 9:00 PM this evening.
Starting at 9:00 PM today and continuing until dawn on Wednesday, the provinces of Chlef, Relizane, Tiaret, Mostaganem, Mascara, Oran, Sidi Bel Abbes, Ain Temouchent, and Tlemcen are expected to be affected by thunderstorms.
The western highlands, particularly in the province of Tlemcen, are forecast to receive snowfall starting from midnight tonight until dawn on Wednesday. Residents in these areas should prepare for potentially hazardous travel conditions.
