The Algerian People’s National Army (ANP) has announced significant operational results achieved between November 19th and 25th, 2025, demonstrating success in various security domains. These include counter-terrorism efforts, combating organized crime, and protecting national borders.
In the fight against terrorism, two terrorists, identified as “G.A”, known as Abu Jafar, and “H.CH”, known as El-Sharif, surrendered to military authorities in Adrar and In Guezzam. They were in possession of a submachine gun, three Kalashnikov-type machine pistols, ammunition, and other items. Furthermore, army detachments apprehended four individuals supporting terrorist groups in separate operations across the country, highlighting the army’s ongoing commitment to combating terrorism and maintaining security and stability.
Regarding the fight against organized crime and drug trafficking, joint ANP detachments, in coordination with security services, continued their efforts to curb this scourge. Thirty drug traffickers were arrested, and attempts to smuggle 19 quintals and 93 kilograms of treated cannabis across the border with Morocco were thwarted. Additionally, 1,425,734 psychotropic tablets were seized.
Army units also apprehended 344 individuals and seized 29 vehicles, 244 generators, 133 jackhammers, and quantities of raw gold and stone mixture, as well as equipment used in illegal gold mining activities in the Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam, Illizi, and Djanet regions.
In other separate operations, 14 individuals were arrested, and a Kalashnikov submachine gun, seven hunting rifles, 103,300 liters of fuel, 25 quintals of tobacco, and 10 tons of food intended for smuggling and speculation were seized.
On the coast, coastguards thwarted illegal emigration attempts and rescued 63 individuals aboard makeshift boats, while 270 illegal immigrants of various nationalities were apprehended across the country.
These results reflect the ANP’s continuous efforts to strengthen national security, combat various forms of threats, whether terrorist or organized crime-related, and ensure the safety of citizens and the protection of national borders.
