Muscat, Oman – Algerian companies have concluded their participation in the Oman International Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Exhibition (December 1-3) by signing seven export agreements with Omani firms, signaling a strengthening of regional trade ties.
The signing ceremony was attended by Algeria’s Ambassador to Oman, Mohamed Ali Bougazzi, and the Director of Export at the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Zouhair Moussaoui.
The agreements encompass a diverse range of Algerian products, including vegetables, fruits, olive oil, processed food products, and chocolate paste. This reflects the growing capacity of Algerian businesses to penetrate new markets and expand their presence in the Gulf region and beyond.
The Algerian pavilion at the exhibition attracted significant interest from visitors and economic operators, who expressed keen interest in the quality and diversity of the products on display. This positive reception underscores the progress made by Algerian companies, particularly in the agriculture and food processing sectors.
DZWatch understands that Algeria’s participation in the exhibition, overseen by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, is part of an ongoing effort to support economic operators and promote the presence of Algerian products in foreign markets. This initiative aligns with the broader national strategy to diversify the economy and expand export horizons, thereby strengthening Algeria’s commercial standing on the regional and international stage.
These export deals represent a significant step towards achieving Algeria’s economic diversification goals and fostering stronger trade relationships within the region. The focus on non-hydrocarbon exports demonstrates a commitment to building a more resilient and sustainable economy.
