President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria and President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus jointly presided over the signing ceremony of several agreements and memoranda of understanding on Wednesday. The agreements aim to bolster bilateral cooperation across various sectors.
The signing took place at the Algerian Presidential Palace, following discussions between the two leaders during President Lukashenko’s official visit to Algeria.
Among the key agreements signed was a military and technical cooperation agreement between the two governments. This agreement was signed by First Lieutenant General Said Chengriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, and Mr. Dimitri Pantus, Belarusian State Secretary of the Military Industrial Committee.
Furthermore, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, and Belarusian Minister of Trade, Regulation and Anti-Monopoly, Artur Karpoovich, signed a roadmap for promoting trade, economic, scientific, and technical cooperation between the two countries for the period 2026-2027.
A memorandum of understanding was also signed between the Ministries of Justice of both countries. The agreement was signed by Minister of Justice, Keeper of Seals, Abderrachid Tabi, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Maksim Ryzhenkov.
In the field of scientific research, an agreement was signed between the two governments on cooperation in scientific research, technological development, and innovation. This was signed by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamel Baddari, and the Belarusian Minister of Education, Andrei Ivanets. They also signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of higher education.
A memorandum of understanding in the field of industrial cooperation was signed by the Minister of Industry, Yahia Bachir, and his Belarusian counterpart, Andrei Kuznetsov. Additionally, Mr. Yahia Bachir and the Belarusian Minister of Agriculture and Food, Yuri Gorlov, signed an agreement in the field of animal health.
The two governments also signed a memorandum of understanding in the agricultural field between the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Fisheries and the Belarusian Ministry of Agriculture and Food. This agreement was also signed by Minister Yahia Bachir and Minister Yuri Gorlov.
Finally, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Startups and Micro-enterprises and the Belarusian Ministry of Economy on cooperation in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation.
