Tebessa, Algeria – A fatal bus accident in the Tebessa province has resulted in one death and fifteen injuries, according to local authorities. The incident occurred earlier today on National Route 10, prompting a swift response from emergency services.
Civil Protection units were dispatched at approximately 9:05 AM local time following reports of a passenger bus veering off course and overturning. The bus, a Coaster model, was operating on the Tebessa-Bouchebeka route, specifically serving the El Houidjebat area within the Ma El Abiod district.
The accident claimed the life of a young male, approximately 12 years of age. Fifteen other passengers sustained injuries of varying degrees. Paramedics provided immediate on-site medical assistance before transporting the injured to the emergency medical services at the Bakaria Municipal Hospital for further treatment.
The deceased’s body has been transferred to the hospital’s morgue. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
