Algeria to Host 4th African Startup Conference

Algiers will host the fourth edition of the African Startup Conference from December 6th to 8th, bringing together a diverse group of stakeholders dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship and innovation across the African continent. The event is expected to draw significant participation, including 300 international experts, 150 investors, 200 exhibitors, and 40 ministerial delegations.

Noureddine Ouahmi, Minister of Knowledge Economy, Startups, and Micro-enterprises, highlighted the conference’s importance during a radio interview. He emphasized that the event will showcase African entrepreneurs who have successfully built technology companies valued at hundreds of millions of dollars. The focus will be on innovation and delivering services that benefit both citizens and governments.

The ministerial summit’s agenda includes a framework for sharing best practices among African nations. Discussions will also center on ways to enhance private investment, establish joint funds, and reduce customs barriers and restrictions related to language or currency. These efforts aim to support the growth of startups throughout the continent.

The Minister further emphasized the importance of leveraging the skills of African youth in technology and innovation, as well as promoting a unified African market. This will empower entrepreneurs to utilize their capabilities in creating wealth and developing the continent’s digital economy. The conference is expected to be a key platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and forging partnerships that will drive the future of African startups.
