Algiers, December 6, 2025 – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has affirmed that Africa possesses a wealth of human capital capable of spearheading significant economic transformation. His remarks came during the opening of the fourth African Conference on Startups, currently being held in Algiers.
The President emphasized that Algeria’s hosting of this conference reflects its commitment to bolstering continental cooperation based on sustainability and effectiveness. He noted that the event has become a vital incubator for startups across the African continent.
In a speech delivered on his behalf by the Prime Minister at the International Conference Center, President Tebboune stated that Algeria is confident that Africa is rich in human resources, ready to drive economic change and empower entrepreneurial initiatives. He added that the conference embodies the ambitious spirit of Africa, aiming to inspire a new generation of entrepreneurs capable of competing globally and strengthening the technological and economic sovereignty of the African continent.
President Tebboune also highlighted the record participation in this edition, underscoring the conference’s importance at both continental and international levels. The event has attracted over 25,000 participants, more than 40 ministerial delegations, 200 exhibitors, and 150 international investors and innovation experts.
“These numbers are not mere statistics,” the President stated, “but rather evidence that this event has become a breeding ground for startups, and that our vision for building an innovative Africa is resonating widely with our partners on the continent and beyond.” The conference is expected to foster collaboration and investment, further solidifying Africa’s position in the global innovation ecosystem.
