Algiers, December 8, 2025 – Algeria and Oman are poised to strengthen their economic ties through a joint venture in the pharmaceutical sector. The initiative aims to establish a mixed Algerian-Omani company dedicated to the manufacturing of medicines and medical supplies.
The Algerian Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Wassim Kouideri, was received yesterday evening by Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, the Omani Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion. The meeting served as a platform to explore mutual investment opportunities and to lay the groundwork for a sustainable partnership in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Central to the discussions was the creation of a mixed Algerian-Omani company focused on producing pharmaceuticals and medical equipment. The collaboration also seeks to explore avenues for promoting and marketing Algerian pharmaceutical products within the Omani market, potentially opening new export opportunities for Algerian manufacturers.
Both ministers expressed optimism about the potential benefits of this collaboration, emphasizing its role in enhancing pharmaceutical self-sufficiency and fostering innovation in both countries. Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to establish a joint working group.
