Algeria has officially inaugurated its embassy in Bratislava, Slovakia, signaling a firm commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation. The inauguration ceremony was led by the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Algeria, Ahmed Attaf, marking the beginning of his official visit to the Slovak Republic, undertaken on behalf of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
In his address, Minister Attaf underscored the significance of reciprocal diplomatic representation between Algeria and Slovakia. He emphasized its role in bolstering the growing momentum in the friendship, cooperation, and partnership between the two nations, aiming to elevate it to even greater heights.
According to a statement from the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Attaf reaffirmed Algeria’s dedication, through the embassy’s opening, to consolidating bilateral cooperation, continuing political consultations, and exploring new avenues for collaboration in promising and priority economic sectors. These include agriculture, industry, and new technologies. Furthermore, the initiative seeks to strengthen human and cultural ties between the Algerian and Slovak peoples.
Attaf expressed satisfaction with both countries’ commitment, on the international stage, to upholding the values of peace and justice. He highlighted their joint efforts to preserve the principles of international law, the multilateral system, the sovereignty and independence of states, the rejection of external interference in internal affairs, and the right to self-determination.
The ceremony was attended by Juraj Blanár, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Marek Eštok, State Secretary at the Slovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ambassadors of both countries, members of the diplomatic corps, and representatives of the Algerian community residing in Slovakia. This event underscores the deepening relationship between Algeria and Slovakia and sets the stage for future collaboration.
