Interior Minister Oversees Preparations for Gara Djebilet Project Launch

The Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Urban Planning, Said Saayoud, chaired a high-level coordination meeting today at the ministry headquarters to finalize preparations for the official launch of the Gara Djebilet iron ore project. The meeting was attended by key figures including the Secretary-General, the Head of the Minister’s Cabinet, the CEO of Air Algérie, the CEO of Civil Aviation, the CEO of TRONSTIV, the CEO of Houari Boumediene Airport, the Director-General of the National Railway Transport Company (SNTF), the Director-General of Air Navigation Services, and representatives from relevant security agencies.

The primary focus of the meeting was to ensure a seamless and successful inauguration ceremony for the Gara Djebilet project. To this end, the Minister oversaw the establishment of a dedicated sub-committee for Transportation and Logistics. This committee will be responsible for monitoring on-the-ground preparations and ensuring the readiness of all organizational, technical, and security aspects related to the event.

During the meeting, Minister Saayoud emphasized several key priorities: increasing the bus fleet and improving service efficiency, ensuring the readiness of national airports, streamlining flight schedules and providing all necessary logistical support, mobilizing all available human and material resources, guaranteeing robust security arrangements for the event, and diligently monitoring the work of the sub-committee to ensure adherence to deadlines.

The Minister further stressed the importance of close coordination between all stakeholders to guarantee the organization of an inauguration ceremony that reflects the value of this strategic project and highlights its significance as a major national economic asset. The Gara Djebilet project is expected to significantly boost Algeria’s economy and industrial capacity. Its launch marks a pivotal moment for the nation’s development.
