Last night, the Algerian parliamentary delegation, along with delegations from the Arab Parliament, Palestine, Kuwait, and Iran, walked out of the meeting hall during the opening session of the 147th Assembly of the International Parliamentary Union (UIP) held in Luanda, the capital of Angola.

This decision came in response to the address delivered by UIP President Duarte Pacheco, which was perceived as biased in favor of the Israeli occupation. The Israeli forces have been launching aggressive and criminal attacks on Gaza and Palestinian territories.

Later, the Algerian parliamentary delegation re-entered the meeting hall to listen to the speech delivered by the President of Angola, João Lourenço.

In a remarkable show of solidarity with the Palestinian cause, these parliamentary representatives took a principled stance against perceived bias and injustice on the international stage. The Algerian delegation’s actions serve as a powerful reminder of the ongoing global concern for the Palestinian people and their struggle for justice and peace.
