The National Gendarmerie in El Oued has successfully dismantled two criminal networks and recovered a stolen vehicle in a swift operation, underscoring their commitment to combating organized crime and safeguarding citizen security and property.
The operation began following a complaint filed with the National Gendarmerie unit in El Bayadha by a resident reporting the theft of their Kia Seltos vehicle. Acting swiftly, intelligence operatives were able to pinpoint the location of the perpetrators. A patrol was immediately dispatched to the identified location, resulting in the apprehension of two suspects and the recovery of the stolen vehicle, which was promptly returned to its rightful owner.
In addition to the recovery of the stolen Kia Seltos, authorities also seized a separate passenger vehicle that had been used in the commission of the theft. The suspects were taken into custody and transported to the unit headquarters for further investigation.
During the course of the intensive investigation, authorities uncovered a second criminal network specializing in the trafficking of psychotropic drugs. This led to the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of 360 pregabalin 300mg tablets.
Both cases have been compiled into comprehensive legal files. The individuals apprehended in connection with these crimes have been presented before the competent judicial authorities following the conclusion of the investigation. The recovered vehicle has been returned to its owner, marking a successful outcome for the operation.
