Algeria and Tunisia Forge Closer Strategic Partnership

Carthage, Tunisia – Prime Minister Sifi Gherib was received by Tunisian President Kais Saied at the Carthage Palace today, December 11, 2025, marking a significant step in bolstering strategic cooperation between Algeria and Tunisia. During the official visit, Prime Minister Gherib conveyed the greetings of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, emphasizing the strong fraternal ties between the two nations and Algeria’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation across various sectors.

President Saied expressed his deep appreciation for President Tebboune, highlighting the continuous communication between the leadership of both countries. He affirmed the shared history and common aspirations of the Algerian and Tunisian people, who have a joint path of struggle and a unified vision for a better future. Both countries are committed to strengthening bilateral partnerships and consolidating the historical relations.

President Saied emphasized that Algeria and Tunisia, with their evident complementary strengths, will continue to work together to enhance bilateral cooperation, develop investments, and foster partnerships. He also commended the convergence of views between the two nations on various regional and international issues.

He expressed his hope for the success of the 23rd session of the Algerian-Tunisian Joint Grand Commission, scheduled for tomorrow, and urged the implementation of its recommendations for the benefit of both populations.

Prime Minister Gherib reaffirmed the deep historical ties between the two nations, praising the commitment of their leadership to propel bilateral cooperation towards a comprehensive strategic partnership. He stated that the Algerian government places great importance on exploiting available cooperation opportunities across various sectors, thereby enhancing integration between the two countries.
