Boudene Praises Cevital’s Achievements in Bejaia

Bejaia, Algeria – The Secretary-General of the National Democratic Rally (RND), Moundhir Boudene, lauded the achievements of the Cevital Group during a public gathering in Bejaia on Thursday.

Boudene specifically highlighted Cevital’s contributions to the food processing sector, emphasizing its significant role in achieving self-sufficiency in essential commodities such as vegetable oil and sugar. He praised the group’s commitment to national economic goals.

“Cevital is making substantial strides in bolstering our nation’s food security,” Boudene stated, addressing a crowd of supporters. “Their investments and production capacities are crucial for reducing our reliance on imports and ensuring a stable supply of essential goods for Algerian consumers.”

Furthermore, Boudene noted Cevital’s involvement in the national strategic plan for land reclamation in the southern regions of Algeria. He emphasized the importance of this initiative in securing the local production of raw materials, particularly sugar beet.

“The group, under the leadership of Malik Rebrab, is actively participating in efforts to cultivate sugar beet locally, which is vital for sustainable sugar production,” he explained. “This demonstrates Cevital’s commitment to long-term national development goals and its proactive approach to securing the supply chain.”

Boudene’s remarks underscore the government’s recognition of the private sector’s role in driving economic growth and achieving national self-sufficiency. His visit to Bejaia and his public endorsement of Cevital’s activities send a strong signal of support for businesses that are aligned with the country’s strategic objectives.

The comments come at a time when Algeria is actively seeking to diversify its economy and reduce its dependence on hydrocarbon revenues. Increased domestic production and reduced reliance on imports are key priorities for the government.
