Drone Strikes Wound Civilians in Russia; Moscow Hits Ukrainian Energy

At least seven people, including a child, were injured in Russia’s Tver region, west of Moscow, following a Ukrainian drone attack. Simultaneously, Russian forces targeted energy infrastructure in the Odessa region of southern Ukraine. Ukrainian officials reported casualties in the Dnipro and Sumy regions due to Russian strikes.

According to Tver region governor, Vitaly Korolev, emergency services are responding to the aftermath of drone debris impacting a residential building. He stated via Telegram that seven individuals sustained injuries, and twenty residents were evacuated due to the damage. Russian state news agency, TASS, reported that the attack ignited a fire within the building.

Russia’s Ministry of Defense claimed to have intercepted ninety Ukrainian drones over Russian territory overnight.

In a separate series of events, Ukrainian authorities in Dnipro reported one fatality and multiple injuries resulting from Russian shelling in the region. Officials in Sumy also confirmed the deaths of two individuals and injuries to others following intense Russian bombardment.

Meanwhile, emergency services and Oleh Kiper, the governor of the Odessa region, reported that Russia targeted energy facilities overnight, causing fires and power outages. Kiper stated on Telegram that the drone attack resulted in electricity disruptions in several residential areas, a region that houses critical Ukrainian seaports.

Russia has been conducting near-daily strikes targeting various regions of Ukraine since the beginning of its war in February 2022. Ukraine has responded with drone attacks primarily aimed at military sites and energy infrastructure.
