Severe Thunderstorms and Hail Expected Across Several Algerian Regions

DZWatch has received reports from the national weather service indicating a high probability of severe thunderstorms and hail impacting several regions across Algeria. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions.

A special weather advisory has been issued for the Tindouf province, warning of thunderstorms accompanied by hail expected to persist until 9:00 PM today, Saturday. Rainfall accumulations could reach up to 30 mm locally.

A separate advisory highlights the potential for heavy thunderstorms and hail in the provinces of Naama, Bechar, and Beni Abbes. This weather system is anticipated to continue until 9:00 AM tomorrow, Sunday, with rainfall exceeding 50 mm in certain areas. Residents in these regions should be prepared for potential flooding and disruptions.

Furthermore, the provinces of El Oued, Khenchela, Batna, Biskra, El M’Ghair, M’Sila and Ouled Djellal are expected to experience continued thunderstorms throughout the day today, Saturday, until midday. While rainfall amounts are not expected to be as high as in the other regions, residents should still be aware of the potential for localized flooding and hazardous driving conditions.
