Algeria’s national B team has been eliminated from the Arab Cup following a dramatic penalty shootout defeat against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Friday evening. The match, held at the Al Bayt Stadium in Doha, Qatar, ended 7-6 on penalties after a 1-1 draw after extra time.
Adel Boulbina put Algeria ahead in the 46th minute, capitalizing on a defensive error after a precise pass. However, UAE’s Bruno Oliveira equalized in the 64th minute with a powerful shot from inside the penalty area.
The match was fiercely contested, with both teams exchanging attacks in an attempt to secure a victory before the dreaded penalty shootout. Ultimately, luck favored the UAE, who emerged victorious after a long and tense shootout, winning 7-6.
Despite the defeat, the Algerian B team concluded their Arab Cup campaign with a commendable performance. The UAE, meanwhile, progresses to the semi-finals of the tournament.
