Boualbina and Berkane Included in Algeria’s AFCON Squad

Algiers, December 13, 2025 – National team coach Vladimir Petkovic has announced the squad set to represent Algeria in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations tournament, scheduled to be held in Morocco.

The squad list includes a few surprises, notably the inclusion of two players from the national B team, Adel Boualbina and Redouane Berkane. Their inclusion signals Petkovic’s intent to blend experience with emerging talent as the team prepares for the continental competition.

Youssef Atal and Amine Tougai, both veterans of the Arab Cup, have also secured their places in the squad, adding further depth and experience to the Algerian defense and midfield.

However, the squad announcement was not without its disappointments. MC Alger goalkeeper Alexis Kendouz will unfortunately miss the tournament due to an injury. His place in the squad will be taken by Anthony Mandrea, who will compete for the starting position.

The Africa Cup of Nations represents a significant challenge for the Algerian national team. Coach Petkovic and his squad are aiming for a strong showing in the tournament, hoping to replicate the success of previous generations and bring glory back to Algerian football. The inclusion of new faces alongside established players suggests a strategic approach to build a competitive and resilient team capable of challenging the continent’s best.

Algeria’s fans will be eagerly awaiting the start of the tournament, hoping to see their team perform at their best and compete for the coveted title. The blend of youth and experience within the squad offers a promising outlook for the future of Algerian football. The technical staff will continue preparations in the coming weeks.
