Algiers – The Socialist Forces Front (FFS) has reaffirmed its unwavering stance on the indivisibility of Algeria, denouncing separatist movements as acts of high treason. First Secretary Youcef Aouchiche made the remarks during a recent address, emphasizing that Algeria’s territorial integrity is non-negotiable.
Speaking at the opening of a federal meeting for elected officials in Tizi Ouzou, Aouchiche stated that Algeria’s unity is a deeply rooted historical fact that cannot be compromised or questioned. He asserted that all past attempts to undermine this unity have failed and that current efforts will meet the same fate.
Aouchiche’s comments were a direct response to the propositions of the MAK movement, which he described as separatist projects hostile to the nation. He emphasized that Algeria’s territory was won through struggle and sacrifices, and that not a single inch can be conceded.
The FFS leader stressed that defending the homeland goes beyond territorial integrity, encompassing the protection of collective memory against revisionist tendencies, safeguarding national sovereignty from external interference, and firmly opposing all divisive projects that threaten the country’s cohesion.
He argued that calls for separatism do not fall under the umbrella of freedom of opinion but constitute high treason when they align with foreign agendas aimed at undermining the unity of the national state.
Aouchiche affirmed that the Kabylie region is an integral part of Algeria’s national destiny, stating that Algeria cannot be conceived without Kabylie, nor can Kabylie exist outside of Algeria. He reiterated the FFS’s commitment to a unified Amazigh identity as a fundamental pillar of the Algerian character, free from exclusionary or separatist exploitation.
He further emphasized that Algeria’s cultural and civilizational diversity is a source of strength and unity, not division, calling for the valorization of all components of the national identity within a modern democratic state based on the values of November 1954, guaranteeing freedom, dignity, and popular sovereignty.
Aouchiche cautioned against the dangers of the current phase, given the convergence of external threats and escalating regional tensions, asserting that overcoming these challenges requires restoring public trust and launching a…
