DZWatch Exclusive: Several regions across Algeria are bracing for severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall starting tomorrow, Monday. The weather disturbances are expected to persist through Tuesday, potentially impacting daily life and travel.
According to weather authorities, the wilayas of Bechar, Beni Abbes, Naama, and Tindouf can expect significant rainfall amounts, ranging from 20 to 40 millimeters, until 3:00 AM on Monday. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions.
Further east, the northern parts of Tamanrasset, Ain Salah, northern Illizi, and Ouargla are already experiencing rainfall that began at 11:00 PM on Sunday. This weather pattern is forecast to continue until 11:00 PM on Monday, with similar rainfall totals expected – between 20 and 40 millimeters.
The Al-Wadi, Touggourt, El M’Ghair, and Ouled Djellal regions are also under a weather advisory. Rainfall is predicted to commence at 6:00 AM on Monday and last until 3:00 AM on Tuesday. Rainfall accumulation is expected to be between 20 and 40 millimeters.
The wilayas of Biskra, Batna, Khenchela, and Tebessa are anticipating heavy rainfall starting at 9:00 AM on Monday, lasting until 6:00 AM on Tuesday. These regions could see the most intense precipitation, with rainfall amounts ranging from 30 to 50 millimeters, and potentially exceeding 60 millimeters in localized areas. Citizens in these areas should remain vigilant and stay informed about updates from local authorities.
