National People’s Assembly Speaker, Ibrahim Boghali, has affirmed that Algeria is keenly aware of the challenges and conspiracies being hatched against it. He stressed that these schemes are destined to fail, emphasizing that the awareness and cohesion of the Algerian people serve as an impenetrable barrier against any such plots.
During a meeting of the Assembly’s bureau on Sunday, Boghali stated that the anniversary of the December 11th demonstrations reinforces the values of attachment to the land and strengthens the factors of national unity and steadfastness in the face of oppressive colonialism.
He explained that this anniversary recalls the extent of the suffering endured by Algerians under colonialism, which practiced the most heinous forms of abuse, torture, and contempt without distinction between the sons of the nation. Algeria, united by tragedies and forged by events throughout the ages, has produced a resilient people capable of withstanding hardships, overcoming adversity, and standing united in the face of injustice and aggression.
Boghali asserted that the colonizer, even if it changes its tools, will continue to seek to undermine the cohesion of the people through transparent slogans that will never deceive Algerians. He added that covert maneuvers will only lead to further failure and will only increase the people’s determination and resolve to move forward on the path of unity and complete development, while adhering to national values, lofty principles, and human dignity.
Boghali pointed out that the bet on dismantling and fragmenting under misleading titles proves that Algeria has disturbed parties who do not want to see its people united and regaining its civilizational and democratic role with its constitutional institutions and with a conscious popular will.
He affirmed that the Algerian revolution was the decisive factor for anyone who doubted the unity of the nation and its identity, and that the Algerian people, who chose freedom with awareness and unwavering will, have proven that their diversity is a source of strength and national unity. He added that the celebration of the anniversary of the December 11th demonstrations comes in a national context in which the people are making steady progress on the path of development, with the involvement of all its sons in construction and development programs in various fields.
